This template is used in etymology sections to indicate that a term in one language was created based on the model of a term in another language. For instance, the language may use a base and a suffix that have a similar meaning to the base and suffix in the other language, or create a phrase that is equivalent to a phrase in the other language.

Instead of spending time figuring out the parameters of this template, simply use {{auto cat}}.
