From Средњи Енглески rim, from Стари Енглески hrīm, from Пра-Германски *hrīmaz, *hrīmą (hoarfrost) (compare Холандски rijm, Дански rim); akin to Latvian krèims (cream) and Латински bruma (winter solstice).
