From Middle English tagge (“small piece hanging from a garment”), probably of Lua грешка in Модул:languages at line 1276: attempt to index field 'type' (a nil value). origin. Compare Norwegian tagg (“point; prong; barb; tag”), Шведски tagg (“thorn; prickle; tine”), Icelandic tág (“a willow-twig”). Compare also tack.
