Etimologija

uredi

Od Srednji Engleski -ik, od Stari Francuski -ique, od Latinski -icus, od Proto-Indo-European *-ikos, *-iḱos, formed with the i-stem sufiks *-i- i the adjectival suffix *-ko-. Compare Antički Grčki -ικός (-ikós), Sanskrt (śa), (ka) i Old Church Slavonic -ъkъ (-ŭkŭ). Dubleti -y.

PIE *-ko- on noun stems carried the meaning 'characteristic of, like, typical, pertaining to', and on adjectival stems it acted emphatically.
